“At the end of 2022, my regular Sunday school class wasn’t meeting, so I decided to visit Stefanie’s class—completely unaware of the divine encounter that awaited me. And when I say “encounter,” I mean it in every sense of the word. That day, God divinely placed me in Stefanie’s path so that the Holy Spirit could begin a transformative work in my life through Aliyah Ministry. My name is Sarah Jongsma. I’m a mother of five and have been married to my incredible husband since 2012. I entered our marriage carrying not only a child from a previous relationship but also a heavy burden of childhood trauma—abandonment, complex trauma, and sexual abuse, just to name a few. I had spent years burying that pain, refusing to face it. In doing so, I unintentionally caused pain to myself and others around me.I had always believed in Jesus, but no matter how much I prayed, I felt stuck—unchanged and unseen. That’s when Aliyah Ministry entered my life and everything shifted.Through Aliyah, I’ve come into a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Lord. God began uncovering the deep wounds I had hidden for so long and gently invited me to bring them into the light. This ministry taught me how to face those dark, painful places with courage and truth. And in doing so, I began to understand His goodness even in the hardest parts of my story. I learned to ask for forgiveness—both from God and from those I had hurt—and discovered that healing reveals not only who God is, but who He created me to be.In October 2024, I stepped into a new chapter as a teacher and mentor at Morgan’s Mercy Mansion, a drug rehabilitation center for women. In partnership with Aliyah Ministry, I now get to walk alongside women as Stefanie teaches them how to think differently, live differently, and stand in the authority of Jesus Christ. This class has been life-changing—not just for the women we serve, but for me as well. Through Aliyah, I have experienced the power of true healing, and now I get to help others do the same.”
